Can a first offense misdemeanor citation in someone's background get them fired before the probationary period is up? If the person was placed on the diversion program (where after 1 yr. the misdemeanor is taken off of their record)?
You can be terninated for anything or let go for no resan before your probation period is up. They need no reason. After that it can not be held against you as for a reason for termination. We had a girl hired for the meat department, a number of years ago, and they found some bad criminal items on her backround check. Her probation period was up and they wanted to terminate her. She left that area blank on her aplication and it was over looked. Union stepped in and her job was saved. They had one guy that was hired in and they started him before his drug test and backround check came back. They over looked it once he was hired and they tried to terminate him for failing his drug test. The local stepped in and it was determined that with kroger letting him start , before the resaults came back, That they assumed the responcibility of the hire and he could not have any of that held agaist him.
Yep. First 30 days at Kroger is like being the fat guy getting off the bus for the 1st day in prison. They're gonna stretch that poop chute every which way till its loose. Then everytime you fart, its just a whoosh..........
So your probation period is only 30 days? You do not get muck time to break in those rookies. We get a 90 day probation period in the Dallas ares meat department. We get 3 times the fun you guys get on streaching and breaking in the old fat guy getting off the bus new guys.
