Look at whaat you contract states, If they are clasifies as Package clerks, was they hires in as experianced or not, then contact your local union and have them look into it. Have seen many times that someone was hired into the meat department and has been there for a year or two, only to see someone new hired in at a hire pay rate because they have had experiance. Take enough time to look into why.
