Two Weeks Of No Work
Permalink

Is it against the Kroger contract to have two weeks in a row of no hours at all. I'm a cashier in Ohio, and I have not received a single hour of work in the past two weeks. I have been an employee their since the end of April, I did not request off these weeks, nor is it my vacation, nor did I take a leave of absence.
I was just curious if this was in violation to the contract or not, and if I should contact my store manager or the union.

Have seen a very few times, where a new and part time employee got no hours for a week. Under ELMS and scheduling, you are only aload so many hours and if over staffed them the lowest person gets cut first. You always have thew option of looking at a nearby store to pick up hours if they can use you or even another department in the store other than the Meat department. Now our local 1000 steward did tell me that there are minimum hours that they have to schedual someone and it is 12 hours for the week.

Dallas texas area of SWKMA and what area are you in?

It must vary on where you're at. In my area, if you're available anytime, you're required to get at least 18 hours.
