Right now our district is going through wave 4 of Key Retailing. What is the dumbest thing other stores have lost points for? So far for me we lost points(every dept. in store) for not having sales ad taped to communication board. How many different things do you actually need on that board?
Had a cutter fill out the cutting tool and adjusted everything that was to be done but use a Monday cutting sheet on Sunday. We failed that time and it was wave 2. We passes waves 3 and 4 and wave 5 is to start sometime soon.
But here is the one thing I do like about most of Key retailing as far as the meat department. Have had to go and help out two different store the last week and key retailing made it easier to do because you know where everything is to be and have all the scan data, movement and other vital information that is needed when you go and help out.
i can't think of things specifically, but i can say that we've had our store looking great and they'd come through and get us on technicalities or miniscule little details that don't mean anything. I think it was because they'd been telling us that everything was right even though it wasn't then they found out they'd been taught wrong. We got some worthless people in upper mgt.
What I can't understand is why they even bother with this Key Retail crap. Wave after wave all just try to turn putting c rap in the shelf into building a rocket. You'd think they where working at NASA instaed of a da#n grocery store.
Remember this: The more complicated the plumbing, the easier it is to clog it up.
and they've clogged it up pretty d#mn good from what I've seen. Kroger is the only place I've seen using this terrible idea. Whats that say in its self?
Imagine all of the money that could be saved by eliminating all of the Key Retailing "specialists". Kroger has invested a tremendous amount of money in this program and there are many jobs dependant in its existence.
Note to Corporate: Key Retailing is a concept not a religion.
Kroger comes up with these programs which keep us from doing our real jobs .Back in the early 80's when Kroger was a powerhouse and actually was about customer service no one did this crap .Now they measure how long each step from the front door the the back dock take and base our hours on this .I get 2hrs a week to maintain this board ,meetings, crewsheets and etc .
has walmart done "key retailing"? no, so that says right there that it won't work, hurrr durr, we always copy walmart and then succeed, but this time, we're not copying walmart so it's an obvious flop right off the get go.
