we can't stack our empty pallets higher than 12 tall, (of course I always go higher!) but they can send us pallets that wont even fit off the truck!!! THey can't stack worth a ****! Honestly who thinks it's a good idea to stack a pallet of dogfood on top of potato chips? Anyway they do some stupid stuff, so what do you guys do to get back at them?
aside from stacking pallets higher than 12 high, I like to jam bales beside each other so there's no way they'll come out without some major effort. Also sometimes I'll run the pallet of empty milk crates up on the little ridges on the walls of the trailer so it's on a slant, I know it will fall over in transit....why should I care? I don't have to pick them up!! Also sometimes if there's an odd empty milk crate or bread try or a blue tote, I'll just fling it onto the trailer. They sure don't use logic when sending us our PAID FOR goods, so I don't think it's worth the time to send them a nice, tidy salvage trailer in return
send the salvage trailer back in the same lousy shape that it was sent to us in, or basically don't give a **** about how things go back or if they'll remain upright during transit.
i've also seen lots of messages from warehouse workers to the workers on a store level written on the sides of the trailers.
I wait till around close since i have the privilege of working till midnight every F N night and get on the salvage trailer since our store drop and hooks the trailers for our morning trucks, and i take a DUMP on a stack of empty pallets, piss on the bales of cardboard, gotta love the deli food, and the lack of cameras in our store.

Put your cardboard bales on the truck from the compactor , then go in and snip the wires with cutters. We used to do that when I worked at Winn Dixie. Gives them a pile of crap to clean up, turn about is fair play.

yep we gotta have the same mentality as the warehouse: Once it's on the trailer it's "not our problem"
you ding-bats do should know that salvage trailers dont go to the warehouse it goes to a salvage area for cleaning. not the loading docks. If you want too screw with the loaders send pics to the warehouse. they can find out who loaded it
Cutting bale wires is a favorite; dont forget to sweep the dock and brush the trash inside the trailer too! Unwrapped Peyton totes is another favorite of ours-use the jack and go backwards into the truck so they wont drop, then spin inside and bury a load of pallets in front of them(dont forget to leave 1-2 foot of space so they can fall on the way back). The drivers also have some responsibility when the load arrives, so dont forget them! Take a broken CHEP pallet board, walk outside and underneath the trailer, scoop some axle grease from the "male" pin under the trailer. Put some on the handle(crank) and at night when they drop the new load and take back your trailer - SURPRISE! A handfull of axle grease ! If your truck pit is tight or you have a railing, don't forget to grease that too ! As their "behind" brushes up against it - the back of their pants now have axle grease too !
