Here in the Atlanta area our scanrite does hardly anything....yeah she does her mail, sign, and scan cards daily but comeon how long does that take??? not long at all i worked as her back-up for several years so therefore i know what scanrite entails....there is alot of down time for scanrite....that's when you think they could help up front when breaks are needed to be given...wow..she would loose 30 minutes a person times 3 morning people..that is what a whole hour and a half...well she has been paged up front several times and she comes gripping and complaining..she has cried to management and management has told us supervisors to call last if anyone is needed to help....well isn't that great...now we are getting ready to launch the 1 + 1 queing....she is going to relief help...but we are to call her last...we have been told to call from other departments first....now that is truly not fair...she has nothing but time on her hands why should she not be called first...she is one of our unit managers favorites is the store.she is the big crybaby in the store..always puts her 2 cents in about other departments...why can't management make her be a team player..why do they cater to her and the others in the store they cater too.....if anyone can explain this please do so....
yeah, ours is the same way, and we have two of them.a lot of weeks, they would take 8 hours, from each dept, to give to the second scanrite person, because really, we are only suppossed to have one wouldn't be so bad, if they at least did a good job, but tags are left when they were suppossed to be taken down, tags missing, and prices labeled wrong.
we have one person for what I believe we call "file maintenance" and I've been her backup. She doesn't have alot of downtime.
I'm not sure what you guys have set up in your store, but we get probably a stack of tags 3 times a week about 120 pages thick.
Not to mention the TATR report where you have to go thru each and pull each tag. As well as do random scans, do ad check, make sure that every sign and tag is correct in the store.
Would be interesting to see if they are the same jobs. Remember I'm in a small town and we aren't a super store, but we do probably 350k a week.
