What a joke! Kroger has a carreer opportunitites page that's endorsed by Dave Dillon himself. Trouble is, it's the same ol song and dance and he again is talking out of his (censored). There is no room for degreed white males in this organization ! 55 applications I made and everyone went to a woman or minority with less than 5 years with Kroger and non-degreed ! I guess after all these years, I'm going to screw the help, leave early, party with the clerks...what the hell -it worked for them!
First chance I get I'm ought'ta here! I'm Taft-Hartley retirement - Degreed white males - get out and shop the competition...remember, Diversity, according to big sis' IS THE ANSWER !

what the hell?

I am a white male, and I don't see anything BUT white males in management in kroger. Well I take that back, in my general area there are i'd guess 6 black (african american if black bothers you) males, 12 women and about 20 white men. And just in case you needed to break it down further, 3 of those women are black (african american if black bothers you).

So perhaps, and this is just an idea. Maybe it's you?

Or it could be your division ceo doesn't like white men.

Or maybe they did a better job than you?

Or maybe they just kissed ass better?

What I'm trying to say is just because it's easy to use the reverse discrimination card, try not to unless you've exhausted every avenue. Go ask your boss or his boss (cause yes I'm sure you immediate boss is a white male) why?

And one final note if black bothers you, stop calling me white and start calling me caucaseo .. erm no cawcasi.. screw it.. no one can spell it.. I'm white

I am in the Dallas area and could just be me but seems to me that the management staff and all the employees seem to reflect the general population and race make-up of the community.

Thing is that in the North Dallas suburbs, I have found out that the laziest groupm of people to hire for the Markets has always been 18 to 21 year old white males.

Yes, you ARE being discriminated against. Here's the challange for everyone on this forum - go ask your Manager what the "Five Year Plan" is. In the S.W. Division, they actually have posted  the numbers if it were-were their at, where their going, and what they are to have at the end of five years. MMmmm...just a thought.I'm thinking Kroger is chasing a number for unknown reason. O.K. - we hit the diversity goal...then what? Are we really a better business because of it? Careful how you answer - answer as a shareholder-do you want the best, regardless of race, gender, or age or is the answer the number? I'm betting the real investor has jumped ship long ago. So ask yourself why our stock is where its at?

No...I dont think its me. I have never had an Average evaluation, always "Above Average" and "Outstanding". The last promotion really bothers me as its a GED woman, less time, and was the laughing stock because she nailed a vendor in the camera room and the van, clerks took pictures, and the pics made the "circuit". She had issues with Store Manager too-requested transfers out. She left the company for six weeks then came back. I will say she looks DAMN good in a skirt and heels!
Yes, I played that route..."your next, your great, your balh-blah-blah..." I guess I gave up so I dont work for Kroger anymore, Kroger works for ME!

So do you answer on that stupid survey " I conduct business the way Kroger (whatever)..." I hope you "Strongly Disagree" with that answer !

It is a JOKE! The only reason its there is because Kroger lost a lawsuit. I think the settlement was something like 25 mill to the person. Trust me, they already know who they want for a position !

I dont see that. Here in Galveston, maybe were a little different. I did ask about promotion and my Store Manager (female) told me with a smile "Finish your degree, that's the only way HR will look at you. You know, if you were a girl, I could probably get you an interview right now" or something like that. I told my Dad and he just shook his head

Ha ha ha ! We just had the United Way drive and guess what ?!?!? This dummy actually tried to present the material as "Education for the schools". Not one of those dumbasses in the Division office stopped her in her tracks! The United Way does not contribute to the school sytems- they are an agency that  offers referal services and allocates the money to agencies that fall under the United Way umbrella. School systems are not one of them. I did a big fat ZERO this year for insulting my intellegence. Promote them all I say-

You are correct, I dont go along to get along all the time, I ask questions I do go with what management says , Ill do my job but I will ask questions and voice my oppinion, <----- to me being the son of a Sgt. Major in the Marine Corps i know that is the first sign of a good leader! What makes a good asst department head is to always point out alternatives thats a must cause the department head my go with it and it might be better, however some see it as a threat to thier job and keep you down <-----that is LOW CLASS and not a sign of a true leader. I know what Iam but remember my old saying "The company sees what it wants to see when it wants to see it."

Slow down their sonny boy! As a former grunt, the  Sgt Major is correct but this is Kroger! Nod your head in agreement and never voice your opinion and you'll go far. Remember, this is not a professional organization like "our" beloved Corps - its more like the Hitler Youth-blind obidience prevails! Follow the blind and fill in the crewsheets and checklists and all will be well-

It ain't me! I've heard "your next" so many times it's coming out of my ass. Not ONE average evaluation all these years. I like the advice "Don't work for Kroger - let Kroger work for YOU!" I think I will and model myself after the more successful ones-leave early, call-off, FMLA, screw the help and if a DM had a daughter - that's the ticket!...thanks bloggers!
