I called work yesterday and told them that I didn't feel well, and they told me I have to bring in a doctor's note. Can Kroger force employees to go to the the doctor???

lots of questions here.
How long have you been with Kroger?
Are you calling in alot?
See someone in the company can tell you ANYTHING its up to you if you want to believe it or not , however you did the right thing by asking here. If this is your first time no you dont and dont give them one and if the STORE Manager asks you , you tell him this is the first time ive called in sir and ive been here X about of time with Kroger and see if they lieve it at thatif not do what you have to do.

I have been with Kroger for three years and this is the second time this year that I have called in.  Why do managers try to force you to go to the doctor???

If you do go to the doctor make sure that you get a note. However, for a run of the mill cold, I wouldn't even bother. If you are missing alot, then yes they can say something to you. However if your not missing any, and your just sick and they write you up, call your union rep.

Have them ask your manager and your DM if they would rather have you come in sick, and give it to customers/employees or would they rather you do the right thing and stay at home when your sick. Pretty sure your write up will poof...

Until the next time.

my question pertains to the fact that I have an ongoing injury. its not from work but me working is making it worse. I had to call in twice with a note from the doctor stating I could not work. they wrote me up after the first one. this last one my doctor put me off work for 5 days and gave me a note stating it was due to an injury. if I have a note stating I cannot work for and length of time can they suspend me?
