my store just got omni vision. its now another thing to control everyone. and you FES meet your new boss, a damn tv screen as if being a FES wasnt already wasting money on a idiot job was hard now with omni vision you can do less. omni vision is though what i consider useless. its a waste of money which otherwise would of been better off in the employees hands.
they call ours quevision. I work in grocery and i cant stand getting called up front to bag and cashier. Seriously makes me rethink working at kroger and leaving to go to walmart so i can focus on one job not trying to run the store by myself.
We are getting it next month, and I am not looking forward to it.
Ours is also called Quevision and it's basically a new system where heat sensors are going to be placed throughout the store to monitor consumer activity. It will tell floor supervisors how many registers need to be running and the objective is to promote "one on one time" with the customer.
Translation: If your store has seven registers, it is entirely possible to have all seven registers running with just one customer in each line.
It's a gigantic waste of money and is basically going to take hours away from other departments because everybody is going to have to run register. What Kroger fails to realize is that if the product isn't on the shelf, people will walk out the door before making it to the register to be "engaged" by the cashier.

This would explain why we had several guys installing cameras and such in our store. In addition I was trained for 1 hour to run a register. There were atleast 20-30 people on this list who had to be trained. Some employee's, those were are capable were not on the list either. Sounds discriminatory but it's not worth putting up the fight. If they want us to run registers so be it.

Everybody will learn how to check. There are no exceptions. It comes from the top down. Meat department is the only department excluded.
1. makes me feel as if my job as a cashier/uscan attendant isnt important and i'm unneeded. why have us cashiers if they can just have 1 or 2 and then just call people from other departments when needed? it's bull****.
2. the que vision actually doesn't grade you on the numbers on the screen. it only grades based on the heat sensors. so if its really really slow and the screen says you need 1 register open but nobody is coming up to line, it doesn't hurt the queing percentage to not have the numbers matched. Plus it doesnt take into account the U-scan.
My FES and CSM said they only sign on to match the numbers on the screen because managers dont understand that it grades based on the sensors. which doesnt surprise me that the dumbass managers dont know what the hell is going on.

You have the most important job in the store. You can make or break a customer. Those last few seconds might make someone happy, or a bad grocery store trip worse. You are the last thing the customer sees. Trust me they won't pull people from other departments to work your eight hours. Surge checkers are only needed to clear the lines. They should stay on for fifteen minutues so ELMS sees the FE needs help and allows for hours.
first of all it's not a stupid idea!! secondly I don't know what store you are at but if you think it's a waste of money to have supervisors ensuring that our cashiers and baggers are doing their jobs and guiding customer to the best lane that will get them checked out then your are quite stupid.
So basically, it must be a stupid idea to have the prison guards to control prisoners or teachers to teach you parents to guide you. I'm sure your getting my point at this time but then again you think having supervision is stupid.
our job is for customers 1st and with quevision that will allow that. It will keep our customers from having to wait in line a very long time like the customers at Wal-mart has to do. If you don't satisfy your customers and keep them happy where do you think you will be at if your company is not successful? You customers are who pays you!!
I live in the delta area and we are lauching quevision on Sunday we already have it in place and have been using it. It does help. you know when your about to get a rush so you don't have to call everyone to run at the last min. It does work!
But hey if you don't like it and you don't like your job just quite trust me someone would love to have it!!
AHH Is it a stupid Idea its bad enough the FES stands around with thier thumb up thier butt while office people talk to eachother while staring at the break board..its annoying to be called out of our dept. to help bag for a lazy cashier!! FES should get on a register before calling anyone , I mean its not rocket science to direct traffic!! If the cashiers moved faster we would not be called up every 5 minutes Kroger is a joke!! and half the front end is full of lazy people..just sayin
with the que-vision the FES is to get on the register after calling her guest care associates and GSM they are then to call the store manager so that he/she can supervise while they get on the register and then the store manager calls the other dept for help. Evedently if your store is not doing this they are not following procedures and another thing as a FES I don't stand around and do nothing I ensure my people are doing what they are suppose to do and get them out on breaks and lunches and help customer locate whatever they are looking for and trust me we don't call people from other depts if we have people on the front if you see anybody standing around talking they maybe on their break or lunch.
