So the stores in the Fort Wayne area have this thing called Zoo Week. One day of this week starts the event and 3% of all profits that day benefit the local children's zoo. The following 6 days customers have the option of rounding up to the next dollar to benefit the zoo that way. It's crazy how many customers won't round up if it's only 20 cents or less off the dollar... I had one customer whos total came to 6.99 and didn't round up one freakin penny. I mean, what else is he gonna buy with that penny!? I just find how non-generous people are these days. I know the times are tough, but really 10, or even 5 cents? geesh!
people already 'donate' to their local zoo through paying taxes. i sorta understand why some people do not wish to round up. i like to choose my charities and not be sometimes coaxed into feeling obligated to support things - like that one kroger always ask us to do every year where they take out a quarter or dollar every week from your paycheck. sorry but my spare money goes to charities i wish to donate to like my church, etc.

yeah true, I guess I can understand that. An all season pass at the zoo for the whole family is like $90 I believe. So people who have already bought that shouldn't give a penny more!
