Tho I've spent a decade buying the Great Value and Sam's Choice generic products, I'm recently finding myself gravitating more to the Kroger brand stuff. The prices are at least comparable and, frankly, the quality is better.
Examples of crappy Great Value stuff: paper towels. Man, that stuff is skinnier than Pakistanian cheese cloth. And their yogurt and mayo-----just fine if you like white colored water with a hint of taste somewhere around mid way through the jar!
Anyone with similar comparisons (whether it be to Wal-Mart or where ever) ?
Kroger actually has 3 tiers of branded products. Kroger "brand", Value brand, and Private Selection. I, personally, like their value bologna and private select ham.

I've seen those items, tho not tried em yet.....sure can't beat their prices.

I usually buy the Kroger brand. Personally I don't think the quality of the Private selection brand is good enough to justify the price, and the Value brand is too cheap in quality.
Kroger should bring back "cost cutter" items like smokes and beer! They were great. Also Cost Cutter Cola was the best!
LOL, 'Cost Cutter beer??? You talkin about that s--t that came in a whire can, black label that read, simply, BEER? Man, I reied that crap ONE TIME awhole lotta years ago,,,,I seriously 'bout spewed!!!
They're both pretty good brands for being generic brands. Wal-Mart's "Meat lovers" pizza is ****ing amazing! It's better than some of the pizza you can order out.
