Age limit for customer service.

I was wondering what the minimum age limit was for working at the customer service desk.

Thank you. I was offered the job and was told I wasn't allowed because I was under 18, but now the same person who turned me down is letting a 16 year old work back there. What should I do?

I don't think there is an age limit. It's a regular union job just like everything else at Kroger. You can file a grievance with your union, talk to store management or just be happy. The booth is a boring place to work. If you do have customers chances are they are all ready pissed off and they will take it out on you. The other problem is you have to be able to multitask majorly. It seems like it it's a status thing, but it's a headache for the same rate of pay.

as long as you don't have to scan smokes, beer, or work heavy machinery then there isn't an age limit.

 Thats what im thinking.

Our store has only had two minors since i've worked there.  They weren't allowed to run register but were allowed to work as baggers.  They had a red line under their name badge to show that they were minors as well.  Other stores I believe let them run register but they are not allowed to ring up cigarettes or alcohol.

Also, I was told when I wanted to apply for it at my store that I would have to be available at least one night till 11.  I wasn't willing to do that, so I just stayed a cashier.

i think you have to be 18 because you also wait on and sell stuff to customers  and you have to be 18 to sell alchahol. if your under 18 and sell alchahol to a customer kroger would be responsible because you are a minor and kroger not going to do that
