Once in awhile I'm scheduled to work 3rd shift at my store. Usually there is only 2 people there putting the truck away/running backstock. On big truck nights when they order alot we have 3 people there at night. (Alot is 1,000 cases of grocery for our store) Anyone on here work 3rd shift at their store? If so do you like it? If not, do you ever see your 3rd shift workers? What do you think of them? Here we have a couple of weird, cooky ones. haha
A couple of pluses working 3rd: No annoying customers. Nobody telling you what you need to get done every hour. (Just run truck or backstock, depending on the day). I like to listen to my ipod and rock out the truck faster that way.
Negatives: You have to sleep during the day leaving not a whole lot of social time with friends. You have to sleep during the day. You have to sleep during the day.
Our third shift crew isnt bad. I work 2nd shift and see whoever comes in to pull the truck. Normally we have 3 or 4 throwing truck and 1 or 2 on floors.
I shop late nights at my area Kroger, and most of the staff are cool. I've gotten to be friends with their lead cashier and their produce manager.....There's a coupla punks with real stinky attitudes, tho~
I work overnights in the Bakery at our store. It's nice, but our store manager is trying to man listening to personal music. It's a bit of a struggle right now. It's not so bad for me because I'm a bit bored with my music at the moment, but for others, it's a pain.
I've been on 3rds since I've been there, over 2 years now. It's getting old. We listen to our music, but if I don't update it every week or so it gets really old.
As far as the weirdos, we get them alot. Right now isn't bad, but for awhile that's all we could get in there. One guy quit on me because I told him to quit texting and put his phone up. That was a good night. Never been so happy to see someone leave, even if it did leave me with half a truck to put up.
The only way I have found to relieve the boredom is to have a couple people that you get along with, you can have some pretty interesting conversations at 3am!
