Associate Survey results should impact management bonuses
Permalink

If management is working fewer people than alotted hours for bonuses, then why can't the attitude of tired and stress workers reflect their bonus, I am sure customers do not like confronting with disgruntal workers.

It does! It also reflects upon the store director with the Regional director, and other big wigs. Stores that get really low tracker scores, the big shots wonder what the director is doing wrong, and probably shift them around to lesser important stores. FredMeyer does that all the time, store director musical chairs. We are lucky at my store to have a really friendly and respectful director, who also pitches in and helps in departments when needed as well. And it's reflected in our tracker score, 82%, just about the highest in Freddies!

The survey should also have more straightforward terms "store manager" "co-manager" "dept. head" etc.. For those where two terms would apply (such as the survey also covering for the warehouse), "store manager or head leadership" "dept. head or immediate supervisor" etc. We should have such vague terms for something so important.

Also, they should bring the comment box back. There are some questions on the survey that deserve better detail.

Not sure if you got it, but our store got a printout of definitions of the certain terms they use in the survery such as "Immediate Supervisor", "Management" and "Senior Management" and stating what each of those actually mean so you can answer the question knowing what they are actually talking about. And yes,  agree about bringing back the comment box!

How nice. With your director/manager "pitching in and helping in departments when needed", he has no reason to schedule those hours to regular employees. If you are short staffed, he has no reason to hire more help. WHy bother when he can get a bigger bonus by doing the work himself?

There are union rules about that sort of thing.

On another note, I'll be curious to see how the tracker scores our store. Everyone in the store HATES the manager with an undying passion. I know I'm not the only one who scored him the lowest scores possible. We are all hoping that it gets him removed from the store.

These survey's are a waste of time. I have been taking them since 2005 and have seen no changes. If anything things have gotten worse

it's the reason there is no comment box write in section on this survey. it's really nothing more than a pile of BS to make us feel like management gives a damn about what we think

yea this will be the 3rd one i do coming up here soon. i think it too is a big waste of time and the damn results do not get back around quick enough. how long could it take to run a bunch of 9 x 11 slips of paper into a scanner and then toss the data into a computer program to get some results?

i like it when a small team of people go to a store and you grab a group of employees and have an all out bitch session. everybody has an opportunity to speak their mind and all the crap comes to the surface

I agree: I like the whole 'grass roots' meeting approach much better. Where I'm at it's still nothing but a joke (senior management doesn't really give a fart in a noise maker what associate's opinions are, and that's the truth)------but it least gives the impression that the peeps' voices are being heard~
