This happened a few weeks ago. The lazy mid-morning bagger was going to help a customer out. Not only that the lazy one was also scheduled for lot duty that hour. One of the baggers that cleans in the morning was doing some work in our front closet. The lazy one decides to leave the customer to chat with the other bagger. I jumped in to help the customer out. Apparently the lazy one got upset over this and complained to the other bagger. Needless to say this lazy bagger was reported management.
Daily occurrence at my store. I'm guessing it happens everyday at everyone's stores. Look at the caliber of employees they hire to be UTs. Your best bet is to be the best and rise above, then you can go to cashier or a different dept.

I doubt anything will come of your reports.
This.
This is what happened to me.

The lazy one was upset because he hates me and is always trying to show me up and talking smack about me. It's kind of funny actually since my actions speak louder than his words. As for anything happening it all depends to which manager you talk to.
I was at the office at our store the other day waiting to get something when one of our baggers showed up over an hour late. The office manager asked him, "If he knew how to call and tell us he would be late?"
His comeback was I called at 4:30, but it was only 4:20 at the time so he had to come up with another lie. He got fired the next day. Only been there a week.
You know why no other company doesn't have this problem? Because no one else has baggers anymore. Kroger is still able to because we have the money to pay them. Unfortunately, sometimes, due to the bad baggers stated above
