I've worked at Kroger for 3 years now, I started out in produce then went to non/foods overnight for hours. I did that for 6 months, two weeks ago the Produce manager in the morning asked if I had any interest in a nutrution position they are adding. Of course I thought they were just adding another person to the person who was the lead. I should have asked more questions. The next day the H&R person told me to write a letter of interest and I flat out asked her if this meant i was committed. She said no. I get a call the next week letting me know I was lead nutrution and I start next week. I've been getting trained all this week and it's been pretty rough. I have a hang of some things but overall I just don't like the job.
My question to you guys is how locked in am I? I know nutrition isn't a dept head slot so I was wondering if any of you knew if I had to stay over there. My non/foods supervisor already told me she would take me back in a second. Plus I just go another job that starts in January that pays better. A concern I have also is will this hurt me for a reference? I've had no issues at kroger. I was worried they might mark this as indecison or something. I don't plan on working for kroger long time. This is a part time that I need for bills and other stuff. Thanks for your input guys.
you just have to flat out tell them that you don't like the job and would rather go back to your old position. They may try to keep you there, though. It depends on how much big of a dick they are.

they did that to my wife, mover her from floral, where she was very happy, to bakery, where she was misrable. they said the move was only temporary, untill they got help, but wouldn't ever let her leave bakery.
Finally, she had to settle for front end, because they replaced her in floral, which is very much against senority rules.
