I am a new employee with krogers but I am looking into transfering because I am moving to a different city for school so I was wondering how long I have to wait before I can transfer
I'd imagine you'd need to wait until after your probationary period, but after that you're the same as any other employee. Transferring would then be applying for any open spot at the store you want to work at, just contact the department manager or HR person for that store when you see a spot. Other folks in the store or people with more seniority in your area might be interested as well, never know.
Very true in the industry as a whole-------particularly that part about management discretion.
It's a common time frame given to hourlies, even while management is privately screening the losers from the winners. Not unusual for a manager to approach somebody and ASK if they'd like to transfer to another department, or even another store.
