We have a Marketplace opening Thur in our town which I was excited about except now comments from the zone manager and others are being made about only the best of the best are there. They were givin 3 complete uniforms and the night before opening no one can go but those employees at that store and employees from the store they closed down. In the past all employees couls go.
The list is long and getting longer yes my feelings are hurt for I was proud to work for Kroger.
Sorry, just had to vent for the 1st time for the years I have worked forthe company I understand why so many people are so unhappy.
I also work in the Fort Wayne area for the Kroger Company. Not gonna say what store. I am excited for the new marketplace. I really want to go see what it looks like. At first they were talking 300 employees to run it, but now they are saying up to 800 may be needed. This is considering nearly most employees would be part time. If Kroger had it their way, all employees would be part time. Anyway, I'm excited to see the huge store. I dont think the best of the best will be working there. There are a ton of new hires there. And some of those will suck butt. I kinda wanna work there but then I kinda dont because I am confortable with my store now. I'd have to learn a whole new process in a bigger store.
kroger tries to operate at a 33-33-33 ratio. that means out of a store's total weekly payroll - 1/3 is full time / 1/3 is part time and the other 1/3 is.....

Corperate profit. It's not uncommon..
