No you don't. I'm trying to get out of mine right now, its just not worth the dues, at least to me.
lol, we see what you have to say when you **** up and there is nothing stopping management to fire you. Not a good idea to leave the union, it gives a red flag to managent that they can get rid of you at any time for any reason.
Being in the union is a lot like paying hefty premiums for auto insurance or homeowners insurance while hoping you never have a serious accident, housefire, etc.....but you never know when/if you'll need the protection. Same with the union only I don't consider union dues hefty....my weekly dues are paid with the 1st hour of pay on the 1st workday of each week. I hope I never find myself in a situation that I would need union representation.....but you just never know. And if you work for Kroger the odds are you'll need the union on your side sooner rather than later.
