Every part timer on our 3rd shift schedule is scheduled for four hours a night this week. Kroger makes less sense to me everyday i work here. How are you suppose to get a truck done by 2 in the morning when usually we are there til after 6 in the morning?
Trucks never get done at my store by 2. They rarely get done the same night. The trcuks have been coming later and later. Also they have been cutting hours since before Thanksgiving to beat all!
Another example of Kroger weirdness. We havent experienced any real hour cuts at Freddies. All your stores sound like they'd miserably fail Wave 5 key retailing certification, if you cant even work a delivery fully every night! At my store we get late trucks sometimes arriving around noon for perishable freight which usually gets in at 7-8am. When that happens, everyone stays till **** is done. If its really bad, say theres nothing for hanging deli to do, they go home and then come back when the load gets there. Which makes...sense. Cutting hours before thanksgiving is really terrible. We always have "holiday hours" and "demo hours" for various things around holidays....example my 4 part time employees all got 40 hours thanksgiving and christmas weeks, and almost 40 on new years week. And no "cuts" afterwards, other than back to our normal schedule.
Also for comparison our store is experiencing heavy sales increases around 10-20% a week. Also we're very busy, never a week under $1m in food sales. We did over $2.5m for christmas. Might give us a lot of leeway....
We had a record sales week Christmas week, yet no extra hours. We have actually been busy since after Christmas. And now we aren't allowed a minute of overtime unless the zone manager personally approves it.
