By any chance can a person take a lawyer to a greivance meeting? Is this allowed? Anyone have an idea about this type of scenario??Feedback will.be apprechiated
According to my contract book, no. Only official union representatives are allowed to be present. Now if you were planning on suing Kroger by all means get a lawyer.
Go to the meeting but make sure to have a voice activiated recorder so there is no doubt what is said. Then at a later time you need a lawyer the will have all information. Not that it can be used in a court arena but they can't deny what was said!
I'd take along a recording device anyway and simply not tell them about it. In most states it's legal to record a conversation as long as one party (that would be me) knows the conversation is being recorded. What's illegal is to record someone else's conversation that you are not a part of.
