Is this a problem at all stores? Why are people so lazy? They park in the fire lan to run into starbucks or to go to the redbox or just western union. This should be stoped. A fire lane or emergency lane is just that. Where is the respect? I guess the respect has gone to people's belly and they have got fat or will be fat because there lazy. But really does Kroger have a policy on this? The local police where I live don't seem to care until they need to write tickets to meet there quota. Anyway this IS a problem when bringing in carts. Cars blocking the lower part of the curb. They say not to bring in alot of carts thru the door to keep from hitting Mrs Yaksalot talking to Mrs Gossip in the vestaview.

Start a fire in the store and watch the fire truck come plow through their car. I have fantasies of doing this...

You are funny. I asked a fireman once what he would do if there was a fire at our store and people were parked in the fire lanes. He said he would run the hose thru each car window busting the window. I wonder if he could do that fast enough? Last year at valentines the local fire chief was complaining he got a bad attitude because of the candy things the floral makes people can buy with EBT card. He

got really mad at the manager and said he was going to

push the issue to the top. The manager madea  comment that he should worrie about cars in the firelane instead of issues he had no control over. I heard the fire departmeant

can get people for parking in the fire lanes. They may have to call the police like anyone else though but they would have more push.

When I used to water the outdoor plants in the summertime for the floral manager in the evening, our plant displays were right on the edge of the curb in front of the building. I used to tell customers who tried to park in the fire lane. "Hey just a heads up, but there's a county sherriff in an unmarked car writing tickets to people who park in the fire lane. 100% of them fell for it.

This happens at the store I work at day in-day out. The dumb part is we have to put the carts through the back door and people will park their cars in front blocking the path. no So I take them in through the front. If management bitches at me I tell them to tell the owners to move their damn vehicle.

We have the same problem at my store, most of the people are EBT cardholders unfortunately. Those people have it made.

We have lazy customers park in our one lane leading to the dock, which is located at the side of the store.  Whenever I hear the PA annouce "Will the owner of a...please move their vehicle from the dock lane so our truck can unload" I really want tthem to say something like " Will the ownewr of a so& so vehicle parked in our dock lane please meet the officer at the courtesy desk!"

Parking in the fire lane is commonplace among wealthy WASPs in the Atlanta area, particularly the suburbs (Cobb and Gwinnett co) - Adding the outdoor RedBox kiosks only makes the problem more of a hazard to the courtesy clerks and store patrons.

I've been hit once by  car avoiding the guy parked in the fire lane, and had about 5 very close calls.  Kroger Atlanta office is well aware of the issue and has "doubled down" on their commitment against safety by adding a second redbox Kiosk on the other side of the customer entrance.  This gives extra  enticement to encourage the entitled people in SUVs to park in the firelane for their convenience, and double the existing risk for staff and customers alike at this location.  This store in Duluth / Johns Creek GA are is consistently a problem, while patrons of the stores in Dekalb and Fulton county exhibit the firelane behavior very infrequently as compared to the WASP suburb.
