Just curious, but do department heads recieve bonuses for meeting goals ie Key Retailing, Shrink, Sales etc. or just a little more pay and lots more headaches?
Looking at trying to move up and I tell you it doesnt look like a lot of incentive here in Central div.
Some positions make what's called commission. It only happens in high volume stores and varies wildly. It would be in your union handbook if any positions do that for your area. Don't expect it, though.
In any case... no there are no bonuses for anyone other than management. Unless you count the $10 giftcard i got for christmas as a "bonus"

23 years in the market ( SWKMA) and do believe the bonus system was in place , for the meat department, about 20 sum years ago and then disapeared.
nothing as far as any bonus around here. getting a continuois passing grade on CAO and key retailing will only do one thing. That is keep MRs and management off your back and let you manage your department as you feel it needes to be.
Yes, that is all you basically get in terms of doing all the key retailing expectations. They've now provided a program where if you score a 90% on re-certification they will now give you a "key performer" name badge and a $15 gift card. I've always argued that department heads should get a bonus depending upon how must gross profit his/her department has made including a smaller bonus for your clerks as well. I know there are pros and cons to this, but a person is willing to work harder if they have something invested into the department. They would be more concerned on getting more product quicker for a bigger bonus or being more careful and trying to reduce the amount of shrink in their store.

i bust my ass day in day out and rarely get a 'thank you' let alone a damn gift card. I've saved them so much money, they have no idea...but i still do it every day...oh well. the one's who work the hardest get **** on
In my store you get rewarded with hours when you do a good job. I've never got a facking giftcard or a bonus, i just get hours from my boss. Do a bad job and you get stuck with 12 hours a week until you quit, do a good job and you get enough money to pay rent and eat ramen.
