I figured i'd post up this video simply for the meaning of it. This video can cover many issues, but remember you the people have the power to make things right. There are things you can do to empower your union to become stronger. The more we are united the stronger can up to them. The first step would be to attend your monthly meetings. Get involved in getting updates on whats going on for your local. Tell people about the meetings. The more people we have the more power we have in our neogiations. we need to restore the union to its former glory. It can be achieved but it must be done by us. Spread the word.

No, I am an employee whom supports the union. The problem nowadays is people complain and only show up during times when the contract is coming up to see what they get. If we returned to our strength in numbers we can be strong again.

as bad as they let me down, i do agree, people really need to get more involved, if nothing else, it keeps the union more honest, and less lazy, if thier memebers actually pay attention, and participate

I've given up on our local union, it is a shame, pay dues for nothing.  Unions sure aren't what they used to be.

Although they may have been needed at one time, the main job of unions today is to protect lazy unproductive workers.

You need to hold them accountable. I have stirred the pot many times by sending email messages and complaints about local 1000 directly to the main source. UFCW.ORG

They are not my local but send enough emails and then your local has to answer to Washington on the issue. Your local has a constitution and bylaws they have to follow and answer to the main office in washington. have always gotten resaults by doing this and have pissed off my local for doing this to help others in local 1000.

The job of the union is to establish your bargaining and contract status and rules to operate by and to set a fair ground rules for all employees. If you have a problem with the lazy unproductive employees then just do not blame the union but management for not following the proper guidelines , that protect all workers, to discipline, document and terminate them.

If you do not like the union in kroger then one can always go to Wal-Mart to work. only difference between the kroger company and wal-mart employee`s is the contract and the union. Get rid of the union and there is no difference.
