Hi everyone, I applied to Kroger online a few days ago and got a call back to come to an interview the very next morning. Since I received a call does this mean I have a good chance at employment? I have indicated that I want to work the 3rd shift stocking shelves. I have previous experience working at UPS for almost 2 years which I think may have helped me.
I had a few questions about some aspects of working at Kroger. I should mention that I am a full-time student so I prefer not to work an excessive amount of hours. Since I'm planning on doing night stocking I was wondering what type of hours I can expect to work if I'm part time? Also, how does scheduling work? Am I required to work X amount of days per week (M-F?) My biggest concern is the hours getting in the way of my school work. Currently I take classes in the afternoon and evening so I should be able to get a decent amount of sleep before class.

Thank you.
over night where I am in 10 to 6 or 10 -8 on a truck night.
hours depend on availability.
Getting a call for an interview does not meen you have the job.
have to pass a backround check and a drug test first.
can take as much as 3 weeks to get everything back
have a new store opening in Dallas and can not get it staffed because no-one can pass a drug test.
why'd u leave UPS? that is a perfect higher paying job for a student. u got the call because there's incredibly high turnover at store level. like the one person said though if u smoke the gangha then u no can worky there.
as far as hours they will depend on the store needs not urs- u may get 8 one week and 40 next week but rest assured u will not get full time even if u are a great worker and deserve it. the best thing about taking this job will be the awakening u will get - this should really motivate u to study hard and get a degree in something besides a B.S. in business admin so you won't end up in retail mgmt. with a job babysitting slackers and transients.
Durgs are not a problem, I won't have any issues passing that test.

Because it was backbreaking labor and I got tired of it. I was loading 2000+ pieces into trucks per night at a rate of 500+ pieces per hour. That's filling up 2 trucks by myself every night...

talk to your supervisor/hiring manager re: hours and schedule balance, not the internet
I have an interview today at 4 PM but it's always nice to get another prespective on things.
backbreaking labor? if that bothered u then u best apply for cashier.. the night stock is nuthin but hard physical labor... or u could man up and use the work to get in great physical shape while ur young and healthy and able.
As mentioned in the post, The 3rd shift working hours would be probably after 10 in the night, And we are not sure that up to which time the duty of the employee will continue. The amount that we will get as hire by the Company will depend up on the company profile and also the performance and the strategy of the employee, Not sure that there will be sufficient amount of sleep before attend the classes. There are some guidelines provided by each and every company about the timings, rules and the hires provided by it.
