There is no bathroom in the fuel center, so you have to wait for someone in the store to cover your breaks, (which from what I hear can be few and far between) Call off's are a maybe issue too. No that you are supposed to cover anothers shift but you get the idea.
a lot of fuel centers have a small restroom, some don't but the Board of Health and OSHA would accept complaints from employees that are denied timely and necessary restroom breaks. don't be afraid to seek out and call in Kroger is not above the law of the land especially health and safety regulations.
I work frozen.....It's pretty easy, but it is a hassle on truck nights having to take meat, deli, and bakery product off of the top of yours just so you can work your truck
man i would think frozen would suck. too damn cold in those freezers. i sometimes wonder what one would do if somehow they got locked in there.
I was working in the back of the grocery freezer one day when some idiot came by, shut the door, and turned out the light. It was pitch black. The worst part was that there were several trucks and pallets I had to climb over in order to get to the door. When I got out I made a page over the intercom to whoever just the freezer door to come back to the freezer. It turned out to be a co-manager.
The freezers are cold, but a majority of time is spend on the floor where it seems kroger only has two temperature settings......hot and Kenya. The worst part about it is that if grocery cant finish a truck on time they pull me over to grocery leaving the froz. head unable to finish the truck, but NO ONE offers to help us in frozen.
Grocery is the easiest department to work in. There isn't a damn thing hard about it. Produce and dairy are the harder ones because of rotating stock and the heavy boxes. I've never worked frozen, but it seems like a cake walk.
It depends on what you do. I have been both a cashier and a bagger. The past 2 weeks, I have been bagging, and it is a whole lot less stressful than being a cashier (mostly because of ELMS, 1+1 Queuing, and Key Retailing programs that they have put in place). The only thing stressful I see about being a bagger is being put on utilities (cleaning duties). That is mainly on a volunteer basis at my store. These past few weeks, I have felt a lot less stress than I usually do as a cashier.
