yes you're supposed to STIR the peanut butter in the jar to MIX UP the oil and the peanuts. and you have to keep it in the refrigerator.

all natural peanut butter is like this. i eat natural peanut butter all the time and as a matter of fact i have 2 jars of kroger brand natty pb in the fridge right now. so much better than regular peanut butter, not full of high fructose corn syrup and preservatives and sh1t.

It is natural peanut butter, therefore it must be stirred before using it.  That is the trade off for getting a healthier peanut butter.  It is pretty much just ground peanut.

Think of it like this.  You can have regular, which because of fat content you do not have to stir, or you can have spreadable protean without the fat at the cost of stirring.

That high fructose corn syrup is not a health food.

Read if you care to waste a few minutes

cmon Dude u the censor/ monitor of this board and unfortunately there are kids as young as 15 on here. they are just of the age to pick up on that kind of perverted suggestive talk and get in trouble repeating it or trying what u suggested. i'm no prude but there are prolly a million chat rooms where u and ur cohorts can talk and play like that all u want and it would be no harm/no foul.

on the flip side of this coin... did the original poster really have to come to this forum with that kind of trivial product question? I would think they could've asked their mgmt or dept head and this big mystery would been solved.... maybe even ask about it at one of the come to Jesus huddles!

Besides, most 15 year olds nowadays know what lube is. You're naive if you don't think so :P

You should just buy the plain Kroger brand peanut butter. It tastes just fine and it's usually very cheap. Be simple!

When I was a kid, my mom used to buy all our groceries at only these specialized organic shops. She'd bring home this homogenized, rancid-looking goop with the label PEANUT BUTTER strapped to it, and it looked just like what's being described here. Oil slick on top, gelatinous muck sludge on the bottom.

FKIN YUUUUUCK~~~

Some stores have a peanut butter grinder in the bulk goods section. Good stuff - 100% peanuts. Also almond butter. It's just the oil. Take a Minute and stir it back in. It's been sitting in a crate for 6 months waiting to be purchased

Why do preservatives get such a bum rap?  Would you rather have your food go bad?  Besides, I figure if they preserve the food I'm eating they might help to preserve me.  As far as high fructose corn syrup causing obesity is concerned, the only thing that causes obesity is overeating and not exercising enough.  Fat people are just using it as an excuse.

well i've read there's a non-causal link (statistical correlation) between the addition of preservatives and sugar/HFCS to foods and incidence of cancer, diabetes, obesity (in addition to lack of exercise as you mentioned). maybe if i get bored later i'll try to pull up a link

by using such modern technology as a refrigerator, freezer, or stove we are able to store foods that don't contain such additives. unfortunately one thing i've noticed is that fewer people these days seem to be able to actually cook real food (or even more unfortunately, afford it in the first place)

as far as corn syrup is concerned, the main issue is that it provides a large amount of calories for no significant nutritional gain. and as you can see there is no lack of calories in our society.

I hope 15 year olds know about lube. Lack of lube, or the wrong lube is the most common reason that condoms break! 15 yo.s better know how to use condoms safely!

You could store the peanut butter upside down.  It might be easier to deal with if the oil is on the bottom.
