Back in mid April my supervisor decided to train me as a cashier(Bagger beforehand). Back at the end of May, she completely took me off the baggers schedule. I just learned U-scan last night and tonight, Next Monday I work In nutrition for the first time without even being trained, they want me to learn fuel very soon, and finally my supervisor wants me to learn the front office as soon as I master U-scan. I find it odd that she threw all these different jobs at me in such a small time frame. I haven't even turned 18 yet. But I turn 18 this week.
this happened to me as well but instead of staying up on the front end i was moved to the back. Normally they do it when someone quits and they need a replacement. Sometimes it comes with a "we will move you back when we get someone else" but that someone else never comes. Before you go into the office make damn sure it's something you personally want to do. Office is hard, annoying, and time consuming. If you don't think you can cut it tell them "no".
Also, make damn sure they have coded you into the system as a cashier and not a courtesy clerk. CC's don't get raises but "Front end clerk"'s (cashier) do.

My head-supervisor seems to care for everyone on the front end. Moztly because I know for a fact that every bagger gets a raise every 6 months along with the cashiers, if they haven't topped out yet. I have had 2 raises since I started, and I didn't start at minium wage either..
is it just me or does it seem strange to throw Nutrition in that mix? Hummm.....
It was extremely weird. Turns out they called me and asked because our nutrition lady has been on vacation. It was no easy fleet. She left A MESS of prooducts in the freezer and her backstock was horrid. But I got it all done with an hour to spare. So they used me for breaks on the front.
