Kroger has some good people...

Just a bit of good news...There was a cashier that was at our Kroger for several years, who recently died. She was young, too, in her 50's (That's not the good news...)...But I have to say that all the employees and customers really pulled through and raised money at the registers for her funeral expenses. Apparently, she had no real family left, except the store, which means no beneficiary...No kids, no husband, no parents...Just a distant cousin...And the manager personally delivered all funds to the funeral home...Kroger rocks! Without everyone helping, she would have been in dire straits...

I must say, if there is anything to learn from a death like this, appreciate your time here, and make sure you have an insurance beneficiary set up in case of emergency...If you're unsure or can't remember, call your union..They would know...

The employees are the ones that have hearts. While corporate only wants to rip it out and throw it in the trash. My grandmother recently died and I called to order a flower arrangement for her funeral - they threw in an extra arrangement for her as well free of charge.

People do care. They really do.

I think the operative word here is, "some".

To be honest, almost everybody that works in my store is nice. A lot of them have that "too nice" attitude, but that's not a bad thing because I like a positive work environment. All of you guys sound like you got the shaft.
