I work in the meat dept in DFW and after 12 weeks I averaged 36 hrs a week so the way the contract reads I should get full time.I was told it would take up to 2 weeks for it to process.I make 9.65hr now and the way the contract reads I should bump up to 12.65hr so I was wanting to know if I'm right and how does it work will it just be automatic after 2 weeks on kroger HR and if it doesn't what are my options?someone please help cause I don't trust kroger when it comes to stuff like this and I could really use some advice thanks

My understanding of full-time status is 32-40 hours a week for at least 12 weeks in a row. You should speak to your department manager and the store manager about the pay raise. But do not wait around to find out, because you could be losing money every time you work.

I had to bump for 26 weeks 40 hours a week in Toledo.

And even the people who have attained full-time status are having their hours cut at my store.  If it isn't against the contract, it should be.  In any case, I think it is unethical and insulting, especially because they keep hiring more and more part-time people when they don't have enough hours for the current employees.

That's becoming the trick tho, isn't it? More and more companies are playing games with this. Caterpillar was doing the 40 hr/12 wk period=full time + benefits; a few years ago, they started running this gig of laying peeps off at the --literally--89th day. Eight years ago I had a shot at hiring on there, until I learned that lovely bit o' info.

But the optomist in me still believes in the idea of just proving yourself on the job, where ever it's at. Be the person they wanna have, you'll get the opportunities.
