My friend is going to be switching stores next week, and for some reason they had him scheduledfor three days off this week. He told me it sucked for him because he wouldn't be making any money this week so I told him I wouldn't mind have three days off if he wanted to switch one with me. So I ended up having Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights off. Management cleared it for us to switch for a day. He went in for me Wednesday night, and I was already off Thursday and Friday night. However, another friend called me and said that our manager, last night (thursday night) said I would have to come in tonight since I didn't come in last night. Can that be right? I wouldn't mind at all, however, I had made plans to go camping, and now I'm nowhere near home. I'm just concerned because I don't see how my manager can say that, and even if so, wouldn't management have to call me and let me know I'm supposed to go in (since technically its one of my days off)?

Don't go in on your day off. You need to have a life outside of Kroger, too.

Did he know about the switch? did you explain it to him? did you tell him you were camping on your day off? did you make sure to say "no, but thank you for considering me for extra hours."?

then you should :P
