Hi.
I'm hoping to transfer to another district, with another local. I have been employed at Kroger for ten years and became ACSM only last year.
The place I am hoping to transfer to has 2 pay scales for ACSMs; if you were hired before 2010, it's $4 higher than if you were hired after.
Does anybody here know of my "hire date" is 2000, when I started at Kroger, or if they will use my promotion date in 2011 and pay me the lower rate?
Amos

are you going to another district or division? Each kma has differant districts and that should not make any differance at all unless you are in a kma area like texas where there are two separate areas of seniority and two differand unions representing each group. Now what you need to do in get a copy or the union contract where you are transfering to and get in touch with the local rep and talk to them. have your union rep help you with that. You will then get a better idea of what your situation is

Different district, and different Local in the union. Same KMA.
I do have a copy of the contract, but it's not clear on whether "hire date" also means "promoted date."
It would make sense of it said "ACSMs hired or promoted after xx/xx/2005 as follows" but it does not. Obviously, I'd rather use my full seniority date. Incidentally, when I got promoted, I was given the ACSM rate plus every top rate adjustment I would have received since becoming a cashier. So...maybe?
