Here's a crazy story for ya... I need a part for my water tank in floral that costs under $25. I have been trying to get this part for about 6 months. It is available from the manufacturer. I have to go this elaborate song and dance to get it- call this person and email that one, and the response was to go to home depot and get a cheap knock-off part, which does not work properly (drips water on the floor), and cost almost the same. So I call and ask if I can just use my credit card and order the part and get refunded. I was told to order (through Kroger) a whole new tank. These cost about $1,800. I said that i could not do that in good consience. That is like getting a new car because your tire is flat.

I believe that one question on the recent employee survey was pertaining to whether we could get the tools needed to do our job. I "strongly disagree". What is this company coming to? Lack of common sense is displayed at every level.

I put strongly disagree on that particular question as well as proper training and faith in upper management to conduct proper business.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't use my personal credit card for reimbursement ever. That is a snake pit waiting to happen.

Make several copies of said email or correspondance if upper management  or zone office gave you the green light to order said $1800 tank. Let your unit manager and produce manager both know the situation before you order and if they say yes what is it to you? Kroger paying... perhaps they might get credit on it.. warrenty.. and any number of situations behind the scenes that makes puts a huge dent in the cost of it. Any part no matter how small is not yours to buy on your own credit card no matter how small and cheap. That is just an invite to trouble.

You: No thank you. I will not be using my own credit card for company equipment. That is just asking for trouble. However, Kroger can order this small part from the manufacturor at about $25. The other option would be to order a new tank that costs $1800. Which part would you like for us to order?

Unit Manager: Well we really need to save money...

You: I understand. However, I have been having trouble getting this on order. Here is a copy of emails and who all I have talked to so far concerning the matter and I am getting nowhere. What can we do to make this happen? I am going to need your help.

Unit Manager after 1 month: Go ahead and order the $1800 tank.

You: Ok, will do! :)
