So we got a new hire that's related to our store director and she's already topped out wage wise wtf? Should I call union?

I really dont know if the union can do anything. This happens alot in the store I work at. The HR also hires family memebers in at top rate.

I use to get upset but I soon realize there isnt anything I can do but keep my job.

What I really would like to know I have heard more than once how the manager can give a raise over the top rate. How dose this happen?

Management anywhere can do pretty much what they want to do, believe me. I'm not endorsing it, just stating it.

Did she start at the higher rate?

I was hired on the condition of $12.80/h...but I'm making only $7.50/h, because apparently Kroger hires BEFORE they verify your work history, I still have (according to the recruiter) 2 weeks for it to proccess.

Given how abysmal the "Kroger Way" is (seriously 'Kroger' is offically a synonym for "Inefficient Incompetence") and how high the turnover rate is (prior to me three guys quit after working a month a piece, from what I've been told)

..I'm starting to think that I got sold the long con, throw in the recruiter's enthusiasium to bring me on board (the idiot put the $12.80 on the table during the interview) and, yeah I'm thinking that I got deceptively hired.
