So I had to call in sick for today. At my store we are required to speak to a manager when we call in. I called last night around 7 p.m. and was told by the office person who answered the phone that they would leave a note, but I would have to call back in the morning since no manager was on duty. He had went home early sick himself. Well I call back this morning around 9:30, 3 hours before I was supposed to be there, and sure enough no manager was in the store.
This ever happen to anyone else? If so what came of it?

Oh boy no manager to close? And no manager to open? Report them to the main corp office in Cincinnati. It is required for a manager to stay until 11 pm and they have to be in 6am or 7am to open. Who opened the safe?
It happened to me one of the two days I've ever called in. got yelled at by the manager and was told to let him know next time, however he didnt seem to care that there was no manager in the store, acted like that wasnt an excusr. Manager on duty guy, produce head , left him a note.
Does Kroger have a 1-800 employee hotline number to call for such things? If not, I would ask for whomever the most senior person in charge is, like the guy who spoke to the produce lead.
