I just got my pay raised to $12.80 but I am thinking about moving and transfering to a different store. I saw a couple of posts where people said that they had to take a pay cut because they switched stores. Does that happen to everybody that transfers? Or does that only happen if you are moving from an expensive state like California to a state with a lower cost of living? I want to move from Dallas to Fort Worth, but I'm scared to move if it means that I have to go back to minimum wage.
You will not lose your top pay if you transfer. Now, if the store you're transfering to is under a different payscale, your pay might drop if their top pay is lower than what you're being paid now. If Dallas and Fort Worth are in the same division then it shouldn't be a problem.
It depends. If it's local, under the same pay scale and/or union, then you most likely will keep it. But if you switch to a different union and/or state etc., you might have to start where they start their workers, and without seniority. This is the case of a cashier I know who switched states and from Frys to Smiths recently.
