Who should I complain this situation.

One day,one of our co- coworker called in sick and I've got a phone call from our manager. So I covered  the shift instead. That day,our manager asked me again to cover the next day's  because the person(who called in sick) will most likely call in sick next day also. So,I accepted it and needed to arrange my personal schedule. But,As it turned out,she appreared next morning. I wasted my time to arrange my personal life schedule.

Last Friday night, our manager called me to cover hte shift today(Which is Monday, and  I was supposed be day off) which I accepted again. After I clocked in about an hour, he said, the company messed up the schedule again now I am off schedule.

What kind of crap is this??? This is not a first or second time.

Is this typical to our company treat employees like this is that because we are retail employee??? Or Am I over reacting???

There may be a minimum number of hours you are required to be paid for the time you came in, even if you were there an hour. I would consult your union contract.

Being called in is something that happens though, just be helpful is all i can tell you.

Our contract says they have to pay you for 4 hours if you show up and they send you home.  The way to solve the problem is to have caller ID and never answer your phone if it's Kroger calling or if it's a number you don't recognize.  (That's in case they try to call you from another phone besides a regular store phone.)

I agree with just not answering the phone next time.  I've worked at other places that I didn't mind to take a call in every so often but soon as I started I became to "go to" guy if someone called in.  They'll take advantage of it quick cause not everybody wants to help out.  Take a call in if you can do it but if its gonna be that much of a hassle just kindly decline.
