Uniforms and Kroger Associate Card

Thanks, I should have motioned I work part-time, although I expected 2-3 shirts; I already had black pants(non-Kroger) in Michigan Division.  Do I get 1-2 more shirts from Kroger or do I have to pay for them myself?

I just started working at Kroger and was given 1 shirt, do I need to pay for additonal shirts? Also is the employee discount card mailed to me or given in person? Thanks.

One shirt?  You should get at least two, even if you're part time.  In the Mid South division full time people get a total of 5 uniform pieces.  Part timers get either 3 or 4.  We wear blue pole shirts and khaki slacks.  You can get any combination of shirts or slacks you want just as long as it doesn't go over your alloted amount.

They should just give them to you. ask your manager about it.

Now that you got your uniform covered. Your discount card is merely a Kroger Savings Card with the employee discount attached to it. You need to fill out a new one and write *Employee* somewhere on the side of the form and hand it to customer service and let them know also that this is for your discount card as you are an employee. Will take possibly up to a week depending on how soon they get them turned in and put into the system.

I was given one shirt when i went to my orientation at the store i work at. We were told they stopped giving more than one shirt cause people weren't there long and there goes two to three shirts. Recently I had to ask one of the other managers about getting another shirt and i was told they needed to order some.

I've been working at Kroger for almost a year,  full time with 2 shirts...not to mention they both have holes in them. I asked for a shirt and they told me they were back ordered! Is there any other way I could get any!? PLEASE HELP!

Keep asking. Ask other, more senior employees who would be the best to ask about that.

I've been in the same boat.
They send us courtesy clerks in Front End out for an hour at a time (on average...) to bring in carts.
Today it was 95 degrees with a heat index of 101.
But do I have a second shirt to change into once I'm done on the 'lot?
Nope.
I'm a part-timer. I don't get a second shirt.
I've asked several times before. Last time was about two months ago. I gave up.
i'm not going to go online and pay nearly $20 or more for a shirt that looks a lot like the ones we are issued.
Spend my hard-earned $100 a week (bleh) on a shirt no matter what the circumstances.
The company should stop being cheap *******s and provide a back-up shirt.
I think I'd practically have to have mine torn in half before I'd get another one.

But it would be nice to have a second shirt, as back up, so when I come off the parking lot looking like it's been raining or I got hit with a hose, I could put on the clean, non-sweaty, non-dirty one while bagging or whatever else I'm doing. Then, if I'm scheduled for 'lot again before I clock out (happens all the time to us lowly courtesy clerks...) I can just change back in to the wet, sweaty one and go back out. Then repeat.

Sounds to me like you're just trying to make the best of an imperfect situation instead of just sitting there and whining about it like so many others.

I'm really leading on buying my own blue shirts. This wouldn't happen if they gave us more or let us buy them! If they have something to say they can just give me a shirt!

Dude.
I barely make $100 a week at Kroger.
I end up spending at least 1/3 of that, if not more, on groceries.
I even buy Kroger brand as much as I can to help with the discount and potentially saving money.

I am NOT going to pay for a blue shirt off of the Internet on the pitiful wages I make with Kroger.
If the store didn't have such a high turnover rate they wouldn't have to worry about the number of shirts they have.
I know our store has that problem just as I know other stores have the same problem.
But when you end up treating your employees more as resources than people and expect one person to do the job of three you are going to have a high turnover rate.

All I want from them is a second blue shirt.
One I can change in to if I have been in the parking lot and am covered in sweat.
Then put back on if I go back out again before my shift ends.
But for Kroger that is just not possible.

Same here. Our store sends us out for 30 minutes to 1 hours of carts. It's hell out here, it was 115 today. But the work day got cut short because someone was murdered in the parking lot.

Would it be for all Krogers. Some of the customers are dicks.

My store hands them out like candy. Lol. I have about 5. If it's 115 I hope they have water for you at least. We do 15 minute carts on hot days. 90 or more and we give them water bottles. On freezing days we do 15 minute carts as well. Some Krogers aren't as bad as others in some aspects. Sorry your stores are awful.
