Hi all. I've read all the recent posts about transferring, but I'm not sure what applies to my situation. I'm in the greater cinci/northern ky division and a recent situation has left me unable to easily get transported to work, I dont have a car. However, i just moved in with someone living right across the street from adifferent store, who also works there. Therefore, i know for a fact they have positions open for my dept. Ive been at my store since 08. How long should this transfer take given that the other store approves of my transfer? My store manager likes me, im more afraid he won't want me to go because all of our departments new hires quit when they walk through the door. My hours just got changed though, so I basically lost my way over to this store, even after communicating my needs to my department head. What all must i do to assure i can transfer, how long should it take if im very proactive about it, and how should i put it for him to understand that i truly need this? Do i really need to get the union involved? Im going to go ahead and talk to the other store's managementtomorrow, so any advice would be appreciated to make this as easy as possible. My managementhas been very good to me so I would hate to end on bad terms....
I moved this may down to another state there are 6 kroger with in a 10 mile radius of my new house. I am having to drive all the way from southaven MS to bartlett TN every day just to go to work. ( total miles 55.8 a day to and from work) I have bitched and raised hell about them moving me but the store manager keeps giving me a excuse that he is trying but this has been going on for almost 4 months and only getting 25 hours a week and its killing me to put gas in the car just to get to work also causing me to fall behind on bills cause I am throwing 60 dollars or more a week in my gas tank!! What do I need to do.
