From what I know, in a 6 month period, you get a verbal warning, 2 write-ups, 1 day suspension, 3 day suspension, then suspension pending.

they could stay in your file indefinately but a write-up is only good for a 6 month period of time. After it is 6 months old , it does noit go against you.    Also I have seen a few times, where an employee is writen up more than enough times to be terminated but never was. The company does not have to suspend or terminate you and on a few times will look for a replacement , hire them in, train them and then terminate you once you make that one last write-up.

In general, here's the thing: Be dependable. Show up on time, don't call off, don't be a trouble maker. Get on management's good side, which really isn't hard to do.

In that case, you'll be allowed some minor mistakes. You can still turn this around.

Meanwhile: S L O W D O W N. You see reasonably smart. Don't get worked up, and let good people train you better by not being afraid to ask them questions.

The basic premise is that write-ups for the same problem start to show, over time, either an inability or a willingness to learn from a mistake or follow instruction. If you can show management they were just accidents and you'll start double checking everything from now on, and you should be fine.

I have had 1 write over the last 7 years and that one doesn't even count because they lost my file. I was also written up 1 time for missing a truck order. The Meat Coordinator had it out for me and I was able to convince the comanager that the write up is invalid. She was looking for a way to justify my demotion as a Market Assistant, because I had transferred back at my old store and filed a grievance when she demoted me without cause. I told the comanager that I shouldn't be written up for "Carelessness", because it doesn't fall under that jurisdiction. I also told him if you go into the computer you can see where I did my shelf review because I thought my order was uploaded. I told him if it was truly carelessness I wouldn't of even bothered to make an attempt to write the order. If they would of wrote me up I would of told them that i'll be making a phone call to the union and writing up every market manager/market assistant who has missed their order. Their has been many people whom have missed their orders and have never gotten a writeup over it. The comanager ended up tearing up the writeup and said "i'll talk with him".

Her name was Tahirh.
