They're starting to write up people for 1 click of overtime. I'm fixing to dish out some of my own justice on these bastards. I'm going to start telling customers as i'm walking out the door "i'm sorry, but I cannot help you. I can't get a click of overtime." call someone over to the counter and leave. Even if it means they have to wait 5 minutes.

here's one, at the 'slave fest' i work at, we are now going to be written up if we have even one minute of overtime. sounds like it's time to start collecting christmas bonuses for all the managers, while all the grunts and piss-ons wonder where in the hell we'll get enough money to go to Walmart (haha) to do our christmas shopping.
that's weird, i'm working 46 hours this week and my dept. head is working 50. we have a few people in the store (mostly dept heads) who log overtime every week
So by that theory, If i worked in that store, if someone comes up to the counter at 8:59, and wants to order a cake, or get a cupcake out of the case or whatever, I should say nope sorry I can't go over? That's good Kroger logic for you.

In that scenario your best bet is to service the customer, and what ever time that puts you over your schedule, let management know---and deduct it from your next day's time. If it doesn't fall over the week's pay roll submittance it shouldn't be a problem.
That is good advice. I have handled it that way for years. Not saying much coming from someone that may not have a job after 19 years. But certain things that are really ambiguous and nit-picken stupid will not be so dramatic if you communicate with your boss right when it happens. At that time they will tell you okay or handle it this way next time. You are safe, well you are never safe but you know what I mean.
No. Im not going to work past my scheduled shift and shave it off the next. They wrote the schedule they should live by it just like key retailing. no excuses.
