I was talking to a fellow employee today when the store manager stopped us and asked us if we knew what the 7x7 rule is. Were supposed to within 7 ft. and 7 seconds of seeing a customer, acknowledge them, make eye contact, ask if we can help and generally engage them.
Well I told the manager I knew what it was because I heard of the same thing at Wal-Mart. Were just copying them. Anyone else going through this or is it some Mid-Atlantic BS!?
Well, that's just stupid. When I go into a store I want someone to be there to help me when I need it but I don't want to have to talk to every dang employee who walks by and says, "Hello, how are you today?"
Kroger copies everything. Every "new" initiative has been stolen from another chain. The newest and latest that gets on my nerves are the morning and afternoon HUDDLES & Money Services. I've been in Walmart first thing in the morning and have witnessed their "HUDDLES". So that's where Kroger got that from. Money Services is another page from Walmart's book of stuff Kroger steals.
I never bug customers unless they talk to me first.. I know when I go somewhere i dont want people pestering the piss outta me so screw 7x7 just something else for managers to bitch about.
