For one of our "employee appreciation" days, a manager was supposed to get hit in the face with pies and then they said they would have pies for the employees. But instead of actually letting some employees watch the event (maybe even just the employees on their break) or at least taking pictures of it, they supposedly let another manager do it in one of the upstairs offices. No one saw it except for a few other managers who claim it happened. Also they convienently forgot about the pies for us.
It's not a huge deal, but I wonder why they went through the trouble of pretending if they had no real intention of doing it.
We didn't have anything like that. Our store manager said he'd pay everyone $1 if they beat him at cornhole. The man was undefeated at 45-0! Our management isn't a bunch of fun haters though, save one co-mgr...but whatever, the rest are great. Sorry yours hates having fun. :(
Hah, we did have an employee day where we got to dunk the most hateful manager in the store. You know one of those dunking booths you throw the ball it if you pay a dollar. The money went to charity, and our manager didn't seem to mind.
My store had a CUSTOMER appreciation day where I sat around "painting" kids' faces with the crappiest Wallyworld facepaint you'll ever see. The co-manager didn't even buy the stuff from our store. And since it was during the worst heat of the summer, the power kept flickering so my GM turned off half the store lights to ease the energy consumption. Welcome to the dark side customers! Let us paint your children with crappy made-up-on-the-spot designs while you feel your way to the milk section! Hopefully everything's still cold! Ha!
