It really depends. At the store I'm at there are three assistant managers. They get rotated in and out fairly quickly. It's rare for one to stay more than a year, especially if they're new. As far as the head manager goes, I've been with Kroger just over 20 years at the same store. The current store manager is the fifth one that's been there since I started.
been at my present store for almost a year and a half and have the fourth store director. Hane 23 years with kroger and have had 22 diferant store directors so far.
In a year, we've had like six or seven co-managers (but I count ones that we've trained...I think we're a training store). But just the one (very strict, but very fair) GM, who I have the utmost respect for in general. Sadly, I heard her saying this was her last Halloween because she's retiring and I'm very afraid for the future of our store. :( One of the co-managers at my store is very crazy and micro-manages like mad. If she gets upped to GM I'll probably quit. I've heard she's on her last chance at my store, because all the other stores complained about her so much. I know some of our folks have already written complaints about her.
Well I wouldn't worry too much about her being promoted based upon all the negative feedback. Also, I hear the company doesn't like to promote within the same store, so even if she did move up, she'd move out too.
