Management at my store (michigan) have been cutting hours and stating that there cannot hire new people because there are no hours to give them. So our department like others has had to do more with less labor. Yet I come to work today and there are signs everywhere saying that next wednesday my store is holding a job fair from 10am to 5pm where applicants can get on the spot interviews for whatever department they wish to work in.
So which is it ? Apparently there are hours available because you want to hire more people but yet our hours have been getting cut down for the last 2 months. So if you want to work for minimum wage, then we have hours for you but if you make $9 or $10 per hour, your hours get cut ?
Similar situation at my store. We got 114 names on the schedule and never enough help because a good portion of them are kids still in high school who can't come in until after 3.
