Is anyone else getting new uniforms? Today at my dept head meeting they said that we will be getting new cobalt colored uniforms and will not be allowed to wear the light blue ones anymore. I'm not sure when they said the roll out is just week 4 of a period.
We were supposed to get ours the week of the 14th. Their late..go figure. the color is better, the only problem i have w/ it is I have seven shirts right now, when we switch I will be back down to three again. And you can bet no one will get extra for awhile..Did you get new name tags yet? Mine is already falling apart.
They are big,white, and I think they go by the name on your W2's when they make them out b/c they had peoples names on them that they dont even go by.(names were preprinted) the back piece that pins to your shirt is just on there w/double sided tape, so they are falling apart already. the cultural council has a yellow strip across the top, and guess what? the dept. heads are not even blue. just white like everyone else's and in small letters below their names it says they are dept. head. kinda crappy. everyone hold on to your old one, they will fall apart in no time!!

I hope we keep the black kakki pants. I just paid $30.00 for 2 pair.
Yeah we did get to the new name tags about a month ago, completely junk IMO, first week it just fell a part and then it got pulled a part by the flap on a cooler door a few weeks later. We still haven't got the new uniforms they said week 4 of period 10 in the dept head meeting. We are also getting a new store manager, the currents last day was today, but the company hasn't told anyone who it is yet, just that someone is being transfered in. And your guys stores get 3, wow we get two to start with, and then later on you can can get more. I have 4 right now, and am not looking forward to having to go back to 2 new ones. I did ask why we were wasting all this money and was told it is because we changed uniform companies.
Our uniforms are dark blue shirt with non-jean/non-stretchpants bottoms. Basically blue-brown-black-khaki pants. Smock aprons for food prep employees and waiter aprons for the rest (except cashiers). White rectangle nametags with a little kroger logo and our name on it. The old nametags were the same except below your name it said something like "Ask me about my hobby" whereas now it just says "Customer 1st". My cultural council nametag has a green CC logo and I got one of those Key pins they just rolled out with this summer, which has a single blue key on one end. I AM THE KEYYYYYYY
When I worked here five years ago I had a brownish shirt with a black/red/white collar. Itchy and uncomfortable. The current shirts are way nicer. I have 2 shirts, about 4 aprons (they get dirty immediately) and about 4 nametags. I have had to sew holes in my apron pockets up because our administrator guards the uniform supply like it's the Mona Lisa. Sheesh.
