your right 10% sucks, if you want a great discount why don't you go to Walmart. They give there employees discounts on everything, oh wait they don't give their employees a discount. Well maybe Target or another grocer, oh wait they don't give their employees anything either. If you don't like getting a discount on Kroger products just go find a job at someplace that does. Oh, the reason that Panera gives 65% is that is how much they markup everything in the resturant. They are just covering the cost of an employee meal. I bet you can only get the discount on your meal, not your friends or family.
The wal-mart discount is 10% off on all general merchandise items ( apparel, electronics, Garden toys ets.) However wal-mart employees do not get discounts on items that are on sale or Grocery products with the exeption of drinks and candy. Just saying

I love when somebody sites Wal Mart policy and actually knows what the hell they're talking about!----BTW, snack items, deli and bakery are also exempt from the discount. But services such as T.L.E. and vision center are not. PLUS, we get 10% off everything as a Christmas bonus. Pretty sweet deal over all~
I'm pretty sure our chef stuff isn't discounted, either, but I am curious about whether the senior employees then get a 15% discount on Tuesdays. (10%+5%) . Our discount takes off a little more than tax, which is good for when buying stuff on break, but actual grocery shopping, I'd rather use coupons (but I rarely have the time to clip them)
The 10% discount does suck. If they had all the GM that walmart had, and the prices were as cheap as Wal-marts, then it would be better. The selection at Kroger is not nearly as good and it's usually marked up 10% or more. I think 20% given the trade off would be a lot more competative. Also, would really appreciate a sizable discount to the deli. The bistro food at our store is decent, but sandwhiches are $6+ and the buffet by weight is insane. two cup sized portions is usually $6 as well. The food isn't that good, just convienent. I would not be surprised if the hot food was 25%-50% employee purchased. Plus, the food is really hit or miss. Burnt, cold, and once I found plastic wrap in the sandwich, but since we are employees we are expected to just accept the issues. Taking all into consideration I would say that Wal-mart have it better (more options and their groceries are already 10% cheaper a lot of the times.
I tried to get one. I was not approved. I have filed bankrupt but it's been over 7 years. How does one start or start over? My credit score was 696.
Your best move is to apply for any card with a high interest rate and a small $ allowance.----And plan on multiple attemps; just be patient. Use it for everything, pay off 100% of the balance EVERY month. Eventually the interest rate will come down and your allowance up.
