any tips on how to do this?  we're supposed to push customers to apply but have gotten no guidence on our pitch.

It's hard to do.

It's probably not worth your time unless you work the customer service desk.

Absolutely no one wants credit cards.  And then, the rewards are lousy when compared to other rewards cards.  It's just a couple fuel points, and $5 for every $1000 spent.  Most people would be as well or better off with any other rewards card, and putting the rewards towards gas.

The other problem is that if you come across some idiot who actually wants one, they have to go stand in the customer service line for 20 minutes.  And if they decide to buy anything at customer service, customer service can snipe the sale.

It is hard to do but they're pushing the front end every day because our store hasn't sold any.  We were told customers with the 123 rewards card spend $80 more on average. 

There's some story about a woman working U-Scan in Ohio, Indiana or somewhere making huge bonuses on selling applications.
