how high does your store get

at my store the current high score gets into the 110's

but before our best cashiers all left we could get 150's at the highest

our older full time cashiers score in the 70's-80's

It depends on how well you know elms and how well you implement them. I get about 110-125 weekly.

Prompt the seniors to slide their card or sign their check when you are still ringing. Wait until the belt is full. Get Kroger card first.
For the minors wait until you finished the trans action until you scan for them.

I always ask for kroger cards, ID if I notice alcohol and if they found everything they needed at the start. It doesn't help much. I'll still get to the end and hear "I need cigarettes." hmm

Our low English shoppers make the most WIC mistakes. It's usually with dairy which is on the far side of the store. Taking the customer there kills time but what can you do?  It happens enough I almost wish we had a cold case with WIC dairy near the front end!

People with full bascarts going to express kills you too but they do it. This week I tried to send two over the next lane with no waiting and got an argument. It was a no win. Do I argue and get accused of refusing a customer or kill my productivity and piss off actual express customers who have to go elsewhere.  I watched people with a couple items scowl at the mess on my belt while they looked depserately for a quicker line. no

That's exactly what you do. They KNOW they aren't supposed to be in that line but the come through on purpose because they think they are too good to wait. Tell them your line is for 15 items or less and stand your ground. You have no need to explain the why, just the what.

Sometimes when I am on USCAN I will be asked to run both the register and the robots same as when I work third shift. I usually manage to stay above 90, but it's difficult when I have to run seven machines at once. Management can't seem to wrap their head around why I'm uncomfortable.

It's hard to do at my store.  We have too many express lanes and not enough courtesy clerks for regular lanes.  This has the effect of driving large orders through express lanes while still hampering the regular lanes.

If I cheat, absolutely bust my ass, and don't spend much time on express, maybe the best I can do is get into the low 90's.  I don't even try anymore since it's hopeless.

At my store, there's two kinds of cashiers who get high scores.

The first is cashiers who have enough seniority to schedule themselves service desk shifts the whole week.  That way, they only have to scan during the busiest times.  They get into the 110's as well, but it's easier if you only scan for 3 total hours that week.

The second are the more antisocial cashiers.  If you don't talk at the customer at all, it's harder for them to ruin your score.

How does anyone get a good score on express?  It doesn't seem possible to meet the goal of 25 items per minute there unless I throw them over the carousel onto the floor.  I can't do any better than about 15-16 items per minute.

When I ring I maintain 100-110 and I am still social with the customers. This is at any time of the night. The express lane it is essential to wait until the belt is fully loaded. also go ahead and start lining up the items according to what bag they will be thrown into. I always assist the customer if i can with their items onto the belt(that way I can make sure there are not duplicate barcodes in a row and this also allows me to have the id and kroger card before i begin scanning. i scan so fast that i go ahead and ask the customer how they are paying. I almost always suspend an order if i know they have coupons(also always ask this first thing, it takes longer for a customer to sort their coupons than it does to scan) this works for both express lane and regular lanes. and like the one person said, always do alchohol last. or do it just prior to produce to give more time to remember the codes for the produce.
