Light Duty Due to Injury- Battle for the Schedule
Permalink

So I've worked at Kroger eight months and have recieved nothing but good reviews. However, a couple of months ago, I tripped and hurt my leg. My  deparment manager now kinda hates me.

Fast forward several months and I'm still on light duty, and there's still a big problem I keep running into- Getting my schedule for the week is impossible! It seems to be completely up to me to track the one person that can make my schedule (my store manager). Most weeks I only work the very end of the week because I spend the first half of the week calling, visiting the store. Nothing. He's never there, or people don't know where he is. It's Wednesday now and I still don't have a schedule this week. What should I do? He's always annoyed when I finally managed to catch him because he acts like I just sat at home the last four days of the week. Any advice? I've tried to suggest he call me, but appearantly it's my responsibility to demand my hours.

This is not worth the 12 hours a week I squeeze out of him.  Also, I'm a little worried that as soon as my worker's comp is over, they'll find a reason to fire me for causing so much trouble. I've heard I'm on my managers 'hit list'.

Your leg hasn't healed after "several months" and you're receiving comp while working?

Your story confuses me.

It sounds to me like he got injured on the job and is still recovering, but the company is paying probably 12 - 16 hours.
